Generic Oxybutynin - Oxytrol, Aricept, Ddavp, Enablex, Exelon, Galantamine, Spiriva

Generic Oxytrol reduces muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract. It is used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, incontinence (urine leakage) and increased nighttime urination.

Generic Aricept is used for treating dementia (eg, impairment of memory, judgment, and abstract thinking; changes in personality) in patients with Alzheimer disease.

Generic DDAVP is a man-made form of a hormone that occurs naturally in the pituitary gland. This hormone is important for many functions including blood flow, blood pressure, kidney function, and regulating how the body uses water. Generic DDAVP is used to treat bed-wetting, central cranial diabetes insipidus, and increased thirst and urination caused by head surgery or head trauma.

People with dementia usually have lower levels of this chemical. Exelon is used to treat mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. Exelon is not a cure for Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.

Galantamine improves the function of nerve cells in the brain. It works by preventing the breakdown of a chemical called acetylcholine (ah see til KO leen). People with dementia usually have lower levels of this chemical, which is important for the processes of memory, thinking, and reasoning. Galantamine is used to treat mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease. Galantamine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Generic Spiriva is an anticholinergic agent. It works by enlarging the airways to allow easier breathing. Generic Spiriva is used to prevent bronchospasm (narrowing of the airways in the lungs) in people with bronchitis, emphysema, or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
