Catapres (clonidine) verlaagt bloeddruk door vermindering van de concentratie van bepaalde chemische stoffen in uw bloed. Dit laat uw bloed ontspannen en uw hart langzamer en makkelijker kloppen. De Catapres merk van clonidine wordt gebruikt voor behandeling van hypertonie (hoge bloeddruk). De Kapvay merk van clonidine wordt gebruikt voor behandeling van aandachtstekort-hyperactiviteitstoornis (ADHD).
